Barbie's Story

A little bit about me & my start in the exotic entertainment industry.

It's the question I always get... "why did you start dancing?"

Like many of you, my career in the club started out of financial necessity. I was 25, supporting myself, my ex and our two cats. My civilian CNA job had done the unthinkable and refused to grant us any more overtime hours, effectively slashing my monthly take home in half. At the time I hadn't been as active on my Onlyfans, and therefore it wasn't a viable option for earning the necessary income to keep supporting the household alone.

I thought about my options. I could get a second job at another healthcare facility, but then I'd be working even more than I already was, and 60 hours alone was burning me out quickly. As I kicked ideas around, one in particular kept coming back to the forefront of my thoughts. Dance. Go audition at a club and start dancing. I'd always wanted to be a dancer, and now was a great time to start.

So that's exactly what I did. After my first audition, I was turned down. It was crushing, but I knew I could work on my look, moves and stage presence and try again. I came back a month and a half later to audition at the same club. As I went into the office to speak with the manager, he began explaining that he didn't like my look and pointed out that I clearly couldn't dance. However, I stated my case to him and told him this was my only viable option to keep supporting my family, and he agreed to hire me. I was restricted to only working weekday dayshifts until I got better at dancing... but I had the contract! I was finally a dancer.

Throughout the past two years, I have worked at six different clubs and am currently planning to travel dance around the United States when I am debt free and have enough money to do so.

Each club experience has brought with it different opportunities, knowledge, memories, and lessons. I am thankful for each and every place I've danced because they all made me the performer I am today.

When I first began dancing, I truly had no idea what to expect. I didn't know if I'd be any good at it, like it, or make the money I needed to stay afloat. Thankfully, I fell in love with the job immediately and the rest came easy. I learned to move and pop a few pole tricks. I learned how to talk, connect and close sales. As my confidence and knowledge grew, the cash coming to me continued to grow. Dancing truly saved my life. At a time where I was so scared and anxious about how to make ends meet, dancing offered me a way out of that worry. I didn't have to scrape by anymore. I could now pursue financial freedom. It was the most incredible feeling imaginable.
